Beginning on June 1, 2021, Hanover Borough began to offer to all residents (and business owners) the ability to file for certain permits and applications completely online. This move to a cloud-based platform, known as iWorQ, is a huge step forward for how the Borough manages the volume of permits and applications it receives daily. The platform will streamline the entire process from application, through review and processing, ending at permit closeout. It ties each permit application (by way of a GIS map / database) to the property where the work will occur. This allows for ease of access to maintain and locate property and permit records. Contractors will be assigned an ID number which they can use to follow the progress of the permit application.
To help everyone with this transition, paper copies of applications will be received through the month of June (with staff assisting to enter the application data into the iWorQ system). Beginning July 5th, 2021, all applications will be required to be submitted entirely online. Efforts are underway to set up a permit terminal in the Borough office to assist applicants who may either not have access to the internet or who may need technical assistance. Your patience and feedback as we make this move is greatly appreciated.
